Tariff
Agile Octopus explained: half-hourly pricing, in plain English
Agile Octopus sets a different electricity price for every half-hour, published the afternoon before. It rewards people who can genuinely move their usage; it punishes people who cannot.
| Best for | Households that can shift heavy loads (EV, washing, batteries) to cheap windows and will actually check prices. |
| You need | A working smart meter in half-hourly mode. Electricity supply with Octopus. |
The catch
There is a price cap on the peak rate, but winter peaks are still expensive. If nobody in the house will change behaviour, Agile costs more than the standard tariff.
